"WHEN I GROW UP, I WANT TO WRITE STORIES"
...said the little girl, absent-mindedly twirling the tail of her My Little Pony.
Fast-forward a few decades and the pony's been lost to a 90s car boot sale (R.I.P.), but the desire to write stories still drives me.
I'm a talented London-based Creative Director with 18 years' industry experience.
I started off in production, before landing my first writing job. Ready to prove I'd make a better creative than a suit I did just that, writing DM copy so good it got me hired by Leeds' top ad agency, to work on their shiny new make-up brand, Illamasqua.
Not bad for a shiny new copywriter.
Having devised ideas for smoky eyeshadow and sausage rolls, I joined Leo Burnett's luxury division, atelier. The loss of that My Little Pony began to fade.
Four years at Leo's was followed by a stint at McCann, another at Grey, then three years at MullenLowe, working on countless brands (none of them pony-shaped, but I did do a shoot with a horse once).
After going travelling in 2019, I knew something had to change. I needed to use my creative powers for good. So I joined sustainability agency, Flag. 18 months learning what ESG was left me smarter but still craving creativity... which I found at Futerra, where I worked with some of the planet's biggest brands to Make the Anthropocene Awesome.
Now, I'm freelancing for anyone who wants to make the world a better place. I'm yet to work out what role My Little Ponies will play in saving the world, but watch this space.
Brands I've worked on include: The RSPB, LEGO®, Apple, Netflix, Sky, Post Office, ABinBev, L'Oreal, BHF, Aussie, Max Factor, Dorchester Collection, TRESemmé.
